Printable FE Other Disciplines Lookup Map
FE Other Disciplines Handbook 10.6 Page Guide
Use this as a compact navigation sheet while you practice. It does not reproduce the NCEES handbook. It points you toward the official handbook sections that matter most for FE Other Disciplines problems, then gives you search cues so the breadth of the exam feels more organized.

Pages Worth Memorizing by Location
- Fluid Mechanics pp. 187-214: the biggest single lookup lane on the FE Other Disciplines specification.
- Statics pp. 101-107, Dynamics pp. 108-122, and Mechanics pp. 136-148: core mechanics pages that show up again and again.
- Thermodynamics pp. 149-186 and Heat Transfer pp. 215-230: pair energy balances with heat-rate relations before calculating.
- Mathematics pp. 42-69 and Engineering Economics pp. 241-248: compact shared sections with very scorable setup patterns.
Sections People Waste Time On
- Searching the whole handbook because the exam feels broad, instead of naming the topic lane first.
- Using vague search terms like "force," "energy," or "flow" before trying "moment," "first law," "Darcy," or "Reynolds."
- Jumping into thermo tables or fluids charts before identifying the known properties and units.
- Over-studying small specialty sections before the fluids, mechanics, math, economics, and thermo pages feel familiar.
First-Week Lookup Drill
- Open your official NCEES FE Reference Handbook 10.6 copy beside your practice set.
- Before solving each problem, name the lane: fluids, statics, dynamics, strength, thermo, heat transfer, math, economics, chemistry, electrical, safety, or controls.
- Jump directly to the page range above. Use global search only after you have tried the likely section.
- Write down the shortest useful search term: "Bernoulli," "Mohr," "Darcy," "Rankine," "present worth," "Kirchhoff."
- After 20 problems, circle the three terms that cost the most time. Those become tomorrow's drill.
How FE Test Prep Uses This Workflow
Our practice problems label the problem type, include quick formula references, and show calculator steps when they matter. The point is not to memorize every page. The point is to recognize the setup, know where to look, and then execute cleanly under time pressure.
